Thermography is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement device to "see" and "measure thermal energy emitted from an object. Thermal or infrared energy, is light which is not visible because its wavelength is too long to be detected by the human eye: it's the part of the electromagnetic spectrum we perceive as "heat".
Infrared imaging equipment allows us to see what our eyes can not. Infrared thermographic cameras produce images of invisible infrared or "heat" radiation and provide precise non-contact temperature measurement capabilities
Infrared Imaging also referred to as Thermography or thermal imaging allows us to diagnose energy issues in buildings. The cameras work by identifying the infrared rays on the electromagnetic spectrum showing differences in temperature. Objects are then pictured in different colors to help the viewer identify which objects are hotter than others. Infrared technology can be used for all kinds of purposes from diagnosing insulation problems to finding moisture issues and indentifying overheating machinery.
